Christmas is coming up so fast, and I haven't had a chance to get nearly as far on my embroidery as I'd have liked. I will have to put in extra hours to see that they're finished in time. December is entirely too short, especially since there are so many essays and assignments that are due before the break. And then there are the pre-Christmas balls which I'll finally be able to attend now that I'm 17. It's so exciting, I can hardly wait.

But at this rate my embroidery will never get done.

As a reminder, Slytherins, it is not permitted to enter another years dormitory without express permission from at least one of the occupants. It is also not permitted to use products or the beds of other students without that students' permission as well. Please be respectful of boundaries in the future.

I was simply wondering why, as a Wizarding school, we feel compelled to continue bringing the works of Muggle writers to stage rather than to delve into our own culture's rich theatrical history. Especially this year as we have several Muggle and Squib students attending, shouldn't we attempt to show them what plays we have in our repertoire rather than to continue exploiting those works which they are undoubtedly already aware of?

Just a thought.

We don't celebrate Potter day in our fam I was ill yesterday and missed the festivities. I do trust everyone had a lovely time, though?

Prefect badges arrive today I believe. Good luck to all of those who are hoping for one. Remember the responsibilities and expectations that come with the appointment. Book lists also arrive today and I'm quite excited to fetch my books to start my NEWT level classes. Herbology is going to be completely brilliant! Professor Longbottom said we'd be stud I was able to achieve Outstanding OWLs in nearly all just enough OWLs to take all the classes my parents wish me to take. They were concerned with my scor very pleased.

I will not be taking History of Magic, of course.

Summer has been quite busy. Mother has resumed my seasonal lessons to keep me being fluent in French and Italian, as well as expanding my dancing repertoire. Since I will be seventeen before Winter Holiday I will be allowed to attend all the Christmas functions and appropriate parties given this season, and need to be very light of foot on the floor. I am quite excited with this development.

Ambrose, would you please give Epona my best. How is she this summer? If it is amenable to your family I would so like to visit with her.

Renee, Saorise, and Sapphira: I am terribly sorry I was not able to attend any of the parties that were thrown by yourselves or in your honour. Though housewarming and birthday presents are forthcoming, of course. I trust a lovely time was had by all?

This dreadful heat seems to finally be dispersing I would not be surprised if Albus was the cause behind it and I am so looking forward to be able to venture outdoors once more. Is anyone planning a summer holiday?
